Q – What would you experience in career coaching?
A – Career coaching is an interactive process between the coach and client. The coach does a lot of listening to understand your individual and specific situation. He will then ask questions leading to a mutually upon agreed plan of action. The path to finding a suitable position is happening by a multi-faceted approach. Since the hiring manager makes decisions during the interview process, approximately half of the time I spend coaching we practice mock-interviews. This practice builds confidence, teaches the client the right strategic answers to most common interview questions and makes the client aware of the potential pitfalls and how to avoid them. An entire section is devoted to learning how to “overcome liabilities”. Since every person has potential liabilities it is of extreme importance to know how to respond correctly .
Q – What distinguishes your career services from others?
A – I benefit my clients by customizing my coaching specifically to their needs since each situation is different and unique. I provide a much focused program whereby the client has a major input. The fee structure is more than reasonable and very affordable.
Q – How does coaching work?
A – My preference is to coach one on one. That way I can see and correct the body language. However, equally common is coaching over the phone. In that case and if feasible, I encourage my clients to meet with me at least once. There are some situations that clients are simply not aware of some poor habits. One of my clients kept rolling her eyes, until I told her about it. She had no idea!
Q – How does one start or book a session.
A – Call me at my home office at (609) 333-8866 or email me at alex@landingexpert.com . You can let me know about your availability and I will confirm with you or provide an alternate time if necessary.
Q – Can you tell me about the financial arrangement?
A – Sure. I practice the concept of “fee for service”. There is no need to pay a high up-front fee or sign up ahead of time for multiple sessions. There is no future obligation. You book only as many sessions as you wish. I expect payment at the end of the session or you can mail it to me if the session is via the phone. Typically, the coaching I provide pays for itself. Even if you shorten your job search just by half a month, your gain in salary will likely exceed the coaching fee. In fact, many of my clients shorten their search by several months.
Q – Who are your typical clients?
A - My clients are business professionals who are in career transition, and many have tried (unsuccessfully) on their own and came to conclusion that they need some degree of help. Many of my clients are gainfully employed but unhappy, and have a desire to change their career focus. In order for one to be successful in using a coach, the person has to be ready for coaching. Those who trust the coach benefit the most
Q – How many sessions are typical for your clients?
A - Six. However, since some clients went through outplacement services, fewer sessions will do. In some other situations clients need a few more.
Q – Can you elaborate a bit about what subjects are being covered in your program?
A – Please see the subjects described on the Our Services page on my website. If you have a particular need or unsure please contact me at (609)333-8866 or email to alex@landingexpert.com . For your benefit it is best to take all the initial training, but I also customize the training for those who had prior outplacement counseling. In any case I will get your job-search jump started in a matter of weeks after only a few sessions.
Q – Do you offer free seminars?
A - Yes, I have in past and will continue to do so in the future. To find out where and when these free seminars will be presented please contact me.
